Biked out to Kawasaki to meet up with Fumiaki and watch the Dark Knight in Imax. It's been almost thirty years since I crossed the Tamagawa on a bicycle, but the ride was great. This was a couple weeks ago, but Griffey Jr. hit one out of the park at his first at bat that I've seen him take in Seattle in 12 years. Fun stuff, happy stuff.

I’ve finally (for myself) took some time off at work to take a trip to the west coast to go to Safeco and AT+T and to of course visit friends and family. Seattle is beautiful as usual, but I really was not looking forward to the flight over.
The aisle seat was close to the back of the plane, which mean the bathroom was close so standing up to get some walking and stretching in would not be a problem. Seated at the back right of the plane was a young Japanese girl and an elder American guy. They were having a conversation in English and because they were seated pretty close I heard about half the conversation. It seemed the guy was kinda of weird and overly friendly, but I didn’t think much of it. Especially since she was drinking the drinks he was giving her (in hindsight I realize she was worried about being impolite and didn’t know how to say no).
That is until, I saw that the girl was trying to get him off of her and he was trying to smooch her. She got out of the seat somehow and I told the FA that there was something weird going on in that seat. The FA had already noticed and had already prepared for the girl (who I later found out was under age) to move up to the front of the plane without returning to her seat. They asked for my personal info for their report. How swiftly they moved on this after they saw something happening (and without causing a fuss) and the thank you speech I got from them makes me wonder what kind of incidents they see on the plane.
近非常に気にし始めた、「大丈夫」の使い方。使い方によっては「あなたこそ大丈夫？」って言われることに。最近はとりあえず「大丈夫」以外の言葉を使うようにしている。
久しぶりの長期有給でアメリカに来ています。飛行機が嫌いだけど、今回はそんなのを忘れるようなフライト。後ろの方に座っていたけど、さらに後ろの席でアメリカのおじさんが日本人の女性と異様に仲良くしている。きもいおじさんだなと思っていたけど、会話も続いていたから特に気にしていなかった。トイレに行く時にパッと目に入っていたのが、いやがっている彼女の腕を握っていてキスをしようとするおじさん。フライトアテンダントに伝えて彼女も席替え出来るように。その状況から逃げた彼女に思わずかけた最初の一言、「大丈夫？」。駄目だ、まだまだ未熟だ。。。
会社の友達と築地市場でターレーに試乗。揺れる揺れる、でも気持ちいい楽しい。
Following up trials with Green Tea flavored Coke and Shiso flavored Pepsi comes the less exotic but new Java Mint Tea (more like Mint flavored Green tea). Mmm, minty, but not too minty. The mouth does start to pucker up though.

Wandered over to Odaiba today with a visiting colleague who was interested in going to Joypolis. My main objective was to see the newly installed real size Gundam, who's protecting our waterfront. 150 years after they were first constructed, Daiba's defensive platform finally had weapons installed. And the head swivels!
イタリアから来ている同僚がジョイポリスに行きたいと言っていたので、案内することに。当然本当の目標は本日から一般公開の等身大ガンバ無を見に行くこと。ビデオに撮ることは出来なかったが最初に首が動き出した瞬間に会場から一斉にどよめきが。実際は歩いたりしません。。。
Swallows vs Marines

Went to go see the Marines visit the hometown Swallows last week in a gripping game that went extra innings (with the Swallows pulling off a win). The game was already going long when we got there and we left the game after the seventh inning with the score tied. I've seen the Giants play in the Tokyo dome and now have seen my favorites the Swallows play at Jingu Stadium. Just like any other trip to the park my feelings remain strong, that the Swallows are the Tokyo team and that baseball was meant to be played outdoors.
先週今シーズン初の神宮球場でのスワローズ観戦。最後まで見られなかったけど、試合は延長で東京スワローズが勝利。今年はすでに東京ドームでジャイアンツの試合も見たけど、引き続き感じている事は：１．東京＋プロ野球と言えばスワローズ。２．野球は晴れていようが曇っていようが屋外で見て初めて楽しいと。
As a side, the Swallows fans are known to cheer with their umbrellas. I had brought my umbrella, but I preferred to tape the action.
On the heels of Green Tea Flavored Coke is Shiso flavored Pepsi. Unlike the Green Tea Coke, this stuff actually does taste like Shiso. It also comes with calories unlike the Coke, so I won't be having this wonderful drink that often.
カテキン・緑茶コーラの次は紫蘇ペプシ。コーラと違ってこっちの方は紫蘇の味はする（緑茶コーラは風味が少しする程度）。美味しいけど、カロリー０じゃないから次回は無いと思います。
When I was over in Milano for a biz trip in April, my kind colleagues in the web marketing team took me out for lunch one day at a bar/cafe that they refer to as the "Milanista place." The folks running the establishment are die hard AC Milan fans, but the walls of the cafe were actually covered with scarfs from soccer teams worldwide. The J-League was not represented, so when I came back to Japan I got a FC Tokyo scarf and sent it off to Milan. Just received this photo from one of my colleagues today, FC Tokyo REPRESENT!!!
４月のミラノ出張の際にミラノオフィスの同僚と会社近くにある「ミラニスタカフェ」に行った、お店の経営者・従業員は完全なるACミランのファン。しかし、素晴らしい事にカフェの壁には世界のクラブチームのスカーフが。しかし、Jリーグのスカーフが見あたらない(ちなみにアジアのチームは何処もなかった)、早速日本に帰ってきて観戦した試合で我がFC東京のスカーフをゲットしてミラノに送った。そして今日同僚からこのフォトが送られてきた!!!!
